RACE TIME-KEEPER

The club is “run by its members for its members”

Like most members’ clubs, we rely entirely on the efforts of our members to keep the club running. Nothing would happen without our members volunteering their time.

Each year, we ask members of BSC to perform one or two sailing duties and helm the club bar once or twice on a Wednesday evening – our regular social evening throughout the year.

Bar Duty

Helm the club bar twice a year on a Wednesday evening 7:30pm onwards.

You will spend most of your evening chatting to other members, plus members of our affiliate clubs.

Some new members have been a little wary or reluctant about doing bar duty before their first time, but many have expressed surprise afterwards at just how much they enjoyed doing it.

Bar Keyholder

Open and close the clubhouse on socials and helm the bar with another member.

  • You can request to be added to the 'Pool Boat Helpers' on WhatsApp (search on the WhatsApp community)

    • Taking the boats out

    • Rigging/showing how to rig

  • Talk to the pool boat team on the beach to find out how to get involved.
